Sherrin Loyd is a Speech Pathologist and Executive Speech and Voice Coach with over 25 years experience as a voice professional. She is an expert in the pronunciation of American English, presentation skills and in the production and use of voice. She was a faculty member at CSUEB (2000-2010), where she taught Pronouncing American English and Phonetics. She has been contracted to teach “Pronouncing American English Skills” at UCB for eight years. She also provides training at several universities in the Bay Area.

Ms. Loyd has been successfully coaching executives and managers in corporate settings for 15 years. She also trains graduate students, ESL teachers, and qualified professionals to teach American English pronunciation.

LYDIA LAWRENCE HYDE, MS/CCC-SLP
Lead Trainer

Lydia Lawrence Hyde, Lead Trainer, is a certified and licensed Speech Language Pathologist. She received a BA in music from San Francisco State University, with an emphasis in voice, in 1999. In 2005, she received her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from California State University, East Bay (CSUEB).

Lydia’s areas of focus include Presentation Skills, Pronunciation Training, Voice Training with experience in adult voice therapy at UCSF, American English Pronunciation at CSUEB, UCB and UCSF, and elementary school speech and language therapy with the Oakland Unified School District.


 

THOMAS HICKEY, MS/CCC-SLP
Lead Trainer

Thomas, a lead trainer, has been teaching American pronunciation of English for the last six years, polishing his skills with completion of a Master degree in Speech-Language Pathology, December 2010. He is a native speaker of American English, and a fluent speaker of French, Japanese and Bambara. He brings years of rich experience having taught English as a second language, as well as cultural awareness from living in Japan, France and Africa.

 


 

DANA ANDERSON, MA
Lead Trainer

As a lecturer and consultant on voice and a specialist in pronunciation, Dana Anderson is a Lead Trainer for VocalEase. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master’s degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Dana is a professional singer and voice teacher. She is an experienced studio artist. As a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, she has sung on film scores and trailers, radio and television commercials, most recently the trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean IV.


 

JUDITH MASUR, BA, MA
Lead Trainer

Judith Masur has a BA cum laude in English from Bryn Mawr College and an MA in TESOL from Columbia University. She has taught English to speakers of other languages of all ages, in the US and abroad. She is also an artist, a coach, a poet and performer and understands how to communicate clearly in English, Italian, Spanish and French.

She loves to assist in opening up possibilities and to be there when a person realizes how to move farther in the direction s/he wishes to go.

Yun-Yun is the Online Registrar and Administrator for Vocal Ease. She is also one of our skilled trainers.

 

 

 


 

AMAL MAGHAZIL, MS, CCC-SLP
Trainer

Amal Maghazil, has been a trainer for Vocal Ease since November of 2009. She graduated with a BS in Speech Pathology & Audiology from California State University, East Bay, in June of 2009. She is from Saudi Arabia and is a native speaker of Arabic. Because she was in the United States as a child, she speaks English fluently and clearly. Coming from another culture enabled her to interact easily with clients with diverse backgrounds.


 

DOROTHY BEVARD, MA, MFA
Writing Lead Trainer

Dorothy is a Professor of English, Business Writing Editor, Researcher, Writing Specialist and Coach. She is an expert in the instruction of American English Business Writing, with over 20 years of experience as an instructor, working with diverse people, markets, and organizations from around the globe.

Dorothy has taught at six colleges and provided instruction for numerous corporate clients such as Merrill Lynch, Google, and Yahoo. She was a faculty member at UC Berkeley (2001-2011), where she was Lecturer in Special Topics and Curriculum Developer of the University’s Business Internship Program; she is currently a Research Associate and Editor in the Interdisciplinary Studies Department at UC Berkeley.
